This policy memorandum provides clarification regarding human subjects research at SLAC. Research involving human subjects research must comply with Stanford University’s Human Subjects Research Program (HSRP) policies. The HSRP requires a review of and approval of the research protocol by the University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). In addition to this policy, SLAC must also comply with certain DOE review and reporting requirements, namely: notification of the DOE SLAC Site Office, and annual reporting to the DOE’s Human Subjects Research Database.
