Conduct of Systems Architecture & Operations

The research mission of SLAC requires striking a balance between the legitimate needs of the scientific mission and the requirements to mitigate unacceptable risk. This balance includes ensuring a certain level of operational rigor and fiscal responsibility to improve the overall quality of the delivered solutions. The purpose of this policy is to provide governance on information system implementation and modernization activities at SLAC National Laboratory that strike this balance.
While retroactive risk mitigations may be required on a case-by-case basis, this policy does not specify requirements on pre-existing SLAC deployments unless or until they are rearchitected or redeployed.
