The purpose of the Conduct of Accelerator Facility Operations (CAFO) policy is to ensure that accelerator facility operations at SLAC are conducted safely, effectively, with highest quality, and conform to the requirements of DOE O 420.2D Safety of Accelerator Facilities [1] as required by the operating contract between Stanford University and the US Department of Energy. It provides overall requirements for operations of accelerators and accelerator facilities at SLAC but recognizes that each accelerator facility may have different means of meeting these requirements. This document supersedes and replaces SLAC Guidelines for Operations.
