The purpose of this document is to define a mechanism that will provide to Stanford Principal Investigators (Stanford PIs), who already have or are expected to develop an ongoing funded program of research or engineering at the Laboratory that contributes to the mission of the Laboratory, a classification in the SLAC Human Resources management system that will allow them to function as a PI at SLAC.
