The purpose of the Institutional Assessment Program (IAP) is to provide a risk-based, aligned portfolio of tactical and strategic monitoring and feedback mechanisms that enable innovative, effective, efficient, safe, and compliant mission achievement and operational excellence. At SLAC, these monitoring and feedback mechanisms include internal and external program and project reviews, readiness reviews, internal and external audits, internal management and independent assessments, and external independent audits and assessments (collectively, “assessments”). The IAP defines requirements for implementing elements of the Contractor Assurance System (CAS), including Criterion 9 (Management Assessments) and Criteria 10 (Independent Assessments) of the Institutional Quality Assurance Program (QAP), and the Site Compliance Plan for DOE O 227.1A (Independent Oversight Program), with the goal of evaluating and improving the Laboratory’s mission and mission-support performance.
